Why do you feel that studying about the Bible is rubbish? It's important that they learn what's on your mind, so that things can be answered to your personal satisfaction. After all, isn't that what Psalm 145:16 and 2 Peter 3:9 are all about?

What do you think is behind the watchtower change in 2008 ?

it also could be a cost cutting measure to though.
getting rid of the km's and even up awakes and watchtowers would save some trees.

Without wisdom, we would only stumble. I do know that I have a handicap at listening to counsel without an interactive component and written direction. What scriptural basis do they use for JCs being conducted without audiotape or written direction allowed? Also what scriptural basis do they use for the final meeting to finish without a prayer on my behalf? A properly-adjusted load would be welcome.

You mention that you think that INDOCTRINATION can produce certain learned emotions. You mention "exit counselors." I grew up in a non-denominational Bible study system, before I did a study with JWs that was rushed after I became baptized, which has meant that I still don't have enough control to successfully fight off temptations and so I was given restrictions almost immediately, which escalated until I was DF'd after 12½ years, for not knowing how to come forward until then about having crossed some lines years before but not knowing how to verbalize what I was going through until then. I want to become an upstanding JW with nothing to be ashamed of. Where do I turn for help?

Good upbringing is hard to replace. Growing what I don't have with have to wait until somebody wants to do the surgical reconstruction. I'm hoping for Jesus, whichever way he has. Colossal eyerolls — I hope it helps people where you are; I haven't heard that it works here yet for people like me.

I'm not Brother Hathaway since I am currently DF'd and using a pen-name. Call me Fred, if you wish.
My desire is to live forever on earth doing Jehovah's will, and the only way to do that is to go by the Bible 100%, which I don't think some of my actions/associations support. That's the problem of having "a double heart". For me, the one lying and deceiving is me to myself. I'm not willing to point any fingers elsewhere.

And if he feels uncomfortable inside himself, he can expose himself to the discomfort and explore it with others. BY learning other viewpoints, he has a chance to grow from that, and become comfortable inside his skin for a change. Like the potential is, for all of us here.

Disfellowshipping - How long to return?
by CaptK indoes anybody know how long it takes for one to get re-instated if you are not that well liked by the body of elders?
i was disfellowshiped for immorality almost 2 years ago.
with my job and attending college to keep in step with my field of work, i have only been attending the sunday talk & wt meeting every week.

Actually it was me that couldn't figure out how to be comfortable in my "Christian" skin. Now that I'm on JWD and interacting with many, I'm finding new thought patterns are developing from reconnecting with healthy thoughts being expressed.
As for being a slave, we're all slaves as the Apostle Paul mentioned at Romans 6:16: Whomever we obey, we're a slave to. As he put it, "either of sin with death in view or of obedience with righteousness in view.
As the Apostle Paul goes on, in Romans 6 (from v.21-23): What, then, was the fruit that YOU used to have at that time? Things of which YOU are now ashamed. For the end of those things is death. However, now, because YOU were set free from sin but became slaves to God, YOU are having YOUR fruit in the way of holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

Watchtower Letter on literature change dated Feb-9.2007!
by Atlantis injust in case some of the folks may have wanted this letter for their records.
at the bottom of this letter the watchtower states, "this new arrangement for publishing the watchtower will take effect in january 2008.. it is nice to know that the watchtower feels that armageddon can be delayed until then!.

This week it was announced in Canada. The letter read there said TO ALL CONGREGATIONS IN CANADA at the top, with the Canadian Bethel's CCJW stationery. Otherwise, the letter for Canada is the same as that for the USA.
